Just a quick note to let you know that I have turned on a plugin to remove the nofollow tag from comment links. Dofollow is enabled for commenters with more than 5 comments so that drive-by commenters don’t get the benefits. I hope this will encourage you to be regular commenters on future posts.
Active commenters will also be rewarded with links in my links round up posts and/or linked list.
That’s a very generous way to encourage your readers to participate. I find it hard to do those rewards on a few blogs of mine, such a dofollow or top commentators list, as they always tend to get spammed very had after a few weeks. The fun part is how fast the traffic drops once you remove a top commentators widget… even more fun can be to leave the part in your navigation showing it, seeing how some holiday resort competes with some loan sharks without it being any use… the moderation and time investment is what keeps me from keeping those rewards.
